Holiday Greetings from the FCDP
Happy Holidays, Friends!
As this year comes to a close, the FCDP Executive Committee would like to take a moment to recognize what we’ve done together during the first year of Trump’s disastrous presidency. In a time that has often felt overwhelming, we showed up. We organized. We protested. We rallied. We refused to stay silent. New people joined us and were not afraid to speak up in solidarity!
We stood up for immigrants, working families, and federal workers when fear and uncertainty were being used as political tools. We fought to protect health care for people who depend on it.
Here in Wyoming, we raised our voices as champions of our public lands—lands that belong to all of us and to future generations. Our collective action helped protect those lands this year, even as the risks to them continue.
We also built something real and lasting. From protests in Lander and Riverton, to listening sessions, to showing up at local events like the art fair and pow-wows, we made our presence felt and our values visible. We created space not just for resistance, but for connection—through organizing meetings, new committees, and the relationships that sustain this work.
A special shout-out is due to the Action Committee for its energy, positivity, and commitment to turning values into action. We’ve seen real growth in both membership and attendance at FCDP meetings, a sign that people are not just paying attention—they’re stepping in. Behind the scenes, the attention to detail in our mass emails have all helped keep people informed, engaged, and connected, strengthening our reach across the county.
None of this happened by accident. It happened because people stepped up on the front lines—planning, organizing, speaking out, and welcoming others in. Every person who showed up, took a risk, or offered their time, made a difference, and that work deserves recognition.
This work was not easy and none of it is finished. But this year proved something important: we are resilient, we are principled, and we are stronger when we stand together. As we move into the new year, may we rest when we can, take care of one another, and return ready to keep pushing for justice, dignity, and a Democracy that works for everyone.
Thank you for the work you do—and for the hope you keep alive.
With sincere gratitude,
The Executive Committee: Julie, Dylan, Chris, Mary, Rod
Plus Lennie and Gina!
