We are Wyoming Democrats. People and place define who we are. While we share this landscape and the diverse population with many political outlooks, only Democrats look at our landscape and see beauty first, not consumption. We see people first and not ideology.
Our Wyoming Democratic values spring forth from this land and its people. And we are proud of these values. Environment
1. Keep public lands in public hands.
2. Advocate for policies grounded in science and research to guarantee that future generations have access to clean air and clean water.
3. Support the right of individuals to generate their own electricity using renewable resources.
4. Advocate for policies that utilize all of Wyoming’s diverse resources to create
a sustainable, long-term funding structure to benefit the people.
5. Protect Wyoming's pristine environment, natural resources and wildlife.
Economic and Human Rights
1. Recognizing that diversity is our strength, support economic growth, equality and civil liberties for all citizens regardless of age, race, ethnicity, country of origin, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, and cognitive or physical disabilities.
2. Promote the development of sustainable and diverse industries in Wyoming to provide job opportunities, protect workers’ rights, their safety and pay a livable wage.
3. Ensure that tax laws responsibly fund the government and local economy without an unfair burden on working individuals and families.
4. Recognize the Sovereign status of the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho Tribes and recognize treaty rights of both.
5. Champion policies that empower families and build welcoming communities where everyone can belong and succeed, no matter their origin.
6. Support law enforcement that demonstrates transparency, public safety and maintains human dignity.
7. Constitutional Integrity: Support upholding the Wyoming Constitution and the US Constitution as amended.
8. Protect voting rights and maximize voter participation by eliminating barriers to voting and making voting more accessible for all.
Health and Well Being
1. Support universal quality affordable healthcare and Medicaid expansion to include mental health, prenatal & postnatal care, and prescriptions.
2. Protect rights to reproductive health care, including abortion, and access to gender-affirming care without government interference.
3. Support the well-being of our military community through VA rehabilitation, mental health, and physical wellness programs.
Education
1. Support comprehensive gun safety education and reasonable firearm regulations, including the reinstatement of gun-free zones.
2. Support professional educators and rely on curriculum not tied to political or religious agendas.
3. Provide educators and public schools with the financial resources to ensure citizens receive high quality and affordable education, including early childhood education.
4. Oppose banning books and other media from libraries and public schools.
